Who is FLARE?
We’re a bunch of people, from all over, who feel rather strongly that 47 is the wrong person for the job. So strongly, in fact, that some of us quit our jobs to go to D.C. and figure out how to get him removed from office.
What does FLARE do?
We visit congressional offices regularly to talk with our representatives about supporting impeachment and we help other people do it too. We collect statements from more people who can’t visit. We pressure institutions like the Heritage Foundation and Fox News to consider their role in this fascist regime.
When is this all happening?
Right now. All the time. We hold a permit to occupy a site near the Capitol 24/7. Volunteers maintain a presence at our site around the clock.
Where is FLARE located?
We are a group of white tents set up in front of Union Station.

Do people sleep at the site?
Our permit does not allow sleeping on site. Some of us stay in hostels or rent rooms, and some of us couch surf with locals or pitch tents in the nearby campground.
Is it safe?
As safe as dismantling an oppressive regime can be. Our site is stocked with first aid supplies at all times and we utilize volunteers with medical, marshal, and security experience. Resisters are encouraged to take precautions before protesting off-site, such as buddying-up, staying with the group, practicing digital safety, or utilizing disguises if they so choose.
Why focus on impeachment?
It’s clear Donald Trump has no regard for the Constitution or the rule of law. He has surrounded himself with people whose only goal is to hold power. So, we’re here to make sure they know who holds the true power. Our voices are already becoming so numerous and loud, they cannot be silenced or ignored.
Now is the time to rise up and fix what has been broken. Impeachment, conviction, and removal is the peaceful, lawful way. And it’s only the beginning. Once 47 is held accountable for his actions, the rest of the regime will follow.
